Lexington Emergency Veterinary Care

Excellent Care for Your Pets When They Need It Most

Just like humans, our pets can get sick or injured unexpectedly. Even if your pet is generally healthy, they could have an accident at the dog park or eat something they shouldn’t have. At North Davidson, our Lexington veterinarians are standing by to help when the unexpected strikes.

Don’t hesitate to give us a call. We’re here to help.

While emergencies can be scary, it’s important that you remain calm for the sake of your pet. If you can remain calm, it can help soothe your pet and prevent them from further injuring themselves. Pets can sometimes become aggressive out of fear or pain. If they can see you are calm, it can help them immensely.

Call (336) 731-6978 to speak to a member of our veterinary team if you suspect your pet might need emergency care.

Symptoms that could indicate that your pet needs emergency medical care:

  • Rapid breathing
  • Seizure
  • Weak or rapid pulse
  • Pale gums
  • Loss of consciousness
  • Apparent paralysis
  • Excessive bleeding
  • Difficulty standing or walking
  • Dramatic changes in body temperature

All the symptoms listed above are serious and usually require immediate attention from a veterinarian. If your pet is experiencing one or more of these symptoms, please bring your pet in to see us at North Davidson right away.

We are fully equipped to handle almost any emergency. We have a veterinarian available six days a week that has been trained to handle urgent and emergency cases. Typically, a team of our Lexington veterinarians and Vet Assistants will be assigned to your pet’s case so that they are fully taken care of.

We will keep you informed and up to date with your pet’s condition while we are treating them and help you understand their prognosis as well. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask!
